I just removed my rear bags to check the tension on my belt before a trip this weekend and discovered that my swingarm is broken nearly in half, just in front of the rear axle nut. I'm guessing the previous owner must have bottomed out really hard on something. Don't know for sure. Anyone know what a swingarm for a '95 ultra sells for. I checked j&p cycles catalog and didn't see them listed. Is this something the dealer can still find??
Just replaced my buds 02 ultra swingarm....To buy new not including bushings is about 400 bones. I found 2 on ebay used in perfect condition...Paid 125 for one and 55 for the second bushings included yup he bought an extra right away.....From what he told me he called the moco this is a big problem with older dressers

It can be fixed. Butt welded and fish-plated. Find a good welder if you can't do yourself. Save big bucks. Just sayin'.
It is a common problem and was written up in one of the bike mags, also on HDF sponsor Motorcycle Metal's website. An alternative solution is to fit a 2002 or later swingarm etc, which I have covered in my Suspension THUMP thread. I didn't suffer a broken swingarm, just wanted to improve my rear suspension, but now have a 2007 swingarm and brake, plus 2005 wheel and narrow belt (and Ohlins shocks), which lets me fit a 150/80 rear tyre.

Great tip for improving these old girls, maybe it should be added to an EVO Sticky.
