Amsoil oil filter

Can I use a oil filter for a twin cam on an Evo motor. I have a 1995 flht. The twin cam filter screws on ok. I don't want to do any damage to the motor. Thanks.

There is debate on that. The debate is that the twinky filter is more restrictive as it filters at a lower micron (finer) level. This more restrictive filter in the return line on an Evo (God's own ride), can be problematic. Some people have reported problems that were resolved when the twinky filter was replaced with a proper Evo filter. Others have said that they have used twinky filters without problems.

Personally, I use Genuine Toyota filters on my bikes. The filter for a 22R motor is identical in spec to an Evo filter. The Toyota filters are even black.

This thread thrashed the subject to death! As well as the filtration difference Dr Hess refers to there are other reasons why a twincam filter is not suitable for our Evos.
