Default Tour Glide Advise Needed

Greetings,
Looking at a 1994 TourGlide.
It has 75000 miles with maintenance done by the book and good records showing everything.
I specifically asked about lifter/cam/cam bearing replacement and haven't heard back so far about that.
Any thing else I need to look for/at.
It's black on black and in pretty amazing shape for a reasonable price.

While your asking, has the Stator /Rotor ever been replaced? Wheel bearings? Motor mounts? I would just ask. Its not like they are deal breakers, but would be good to know what has been done and what might need done down the road. I have an 87 FLHTC that turned 84,000 this fall.

Drive belt is a 6 hour job & a couple hun just for the belt. Did the owner do all the work or was there any shop time? wheel bearings & races are checked with a micrometer & can be adjusted to a point with shims. They do need replacing at times.
look for un even wear on the front & rear drive sprockets. There shouldn't be any. Spend a few bucks & have a bike mechanic look at it with you if your not sure!
good luck.
hatch.

With a bike of that age and with a decent sounding service history it is as good as it can possibly be. IMHO you have only one question - to buy or not to buy! I could add to the things that you might ask about, but in my experience they will all have been done early in its life - if they are going to be a problem. So don't bother about what might be, take a good look over it and post your pics when you get it home!

Greetings,
Heard back from the owner and there is no evidence of anything in the maintenance log of anything but standard oil/filter/tires/batteries, etc.
With this many miles, the plan would be to drop new lifters in ASAP.
He has only had the bike for 5 months and the previous owner bought it new.
I am trying to get in touch with the original owner as he undoubtedly knows more about it.
Could be a bargaining chip in my favor OR could be a grenade ready to explode?
The drama continues and I will keep you posted.

Old lifters won't cause damage if they go out.The INA cam bearing should be your main concern.

I beg to differ. I was running the Harley -A lifters on my S&S engine. When the bearing failed, it ground up part of the roller and sent it all through the engine. Luckily, all it involved was engine disassembly and a good flushing. Still, a royal PIA.
