Default evo jug question

im rebuikding a evo motor. if the info i was told is right i have a 88 bottom end and a 94 top end. one of the jugs lost it wrist pin clip and damaged the cylinder wall pretty bad. looking on ebay to try and get a cheap used jug and piston since it look like a fair amount of people are getting the big bore kit which im not interested in doing. but getting confused by part numbers. the casting number on both jugs is 16584-83a
question is does it matter what jugs i use or do i have to stick with that same casting number?

The evo engine is 1340cc or 80 cu. inches. I googled the casting # you posted and thats evo cylinders. It shouldn't be very hard to find an evo cylinder and piston.

After rebuilding my motor last winter including boring the jugs over size with new pistons/rings I found out after for $500 you can buy a new set of jugs with fitted pistons, something to think about.

Replace your barrel studs while it`s apart. You will want the end of the stud with the ring lip on it into the case, not facing up!
