Default Billet Re-usable oil filter

Any reason I shouldnt use this oil filter on a stock '97 Evo? I got it from J&P Cycles.I also ordered an E.R.T. Super Pump Kit,which is a kit that has 3 different springs for the oil pump and an oil pressure gauge to "fine tune" the oil pressure.Anybody have any experience with either of these items? Thanks in advance for any insight.

If you enjoy the mess of cleaning a oil filter and not knowing if you got enough junk out of it to be on a par with a new disposable filter, go for it. You'd have to buy alot of disposable filters to break even for the one that makes an oil change "more work then most people want to do".,,

Since the filter element is removed form the canister when cleaned,I can see if "I got it clean enough",so no problem there.

Some of these types of filters advertise more power. The only way a filter can give tou more power is to have less resistance. The only way to have less resistance is to have less filtration, that's not what I want!!!
When you take the time it takes to really clean the filter, and add in the original cost of thefilter, it is a long time before you break even with throw away filters as far as costs go. Plus if you are out there on the road an the filter starts to leak and needs an O-ring needs to be replaced good luck there!!! Just my opinion, hope this helps.

Agree with all above posts. Those "reusable" filters look like a real PITA making an already messy job worse IMHO.

One of the biggest pains,to me,when changing oil is to actually have to go buy the filter.Dont see how this filters O ring would be any more prone to leak than any other disposable filter.I dont buy into the "more power" thing,it is advertised as being a better filter,in other words it filters better. They do tout is as being a better cooling factor than a disposable, but who knows.Just wanting to know if it would affect my oil pressure adversely, which I would think the E.R.T. replacement spring would compensate for,if needed. To me removing the element and running it under some hot water is easier than making a special trip to a dealer for a filter,in fact, the last trip I made to the dealer he didnt have the filter,I'm not talking about a H.D dealer, but the local cycle supply store.Over the years I've done a good many oil changes with out changing the filter just because I didnt have one on hand.I already take the extra step of using a scavenger to get all the old oil out,so if the worst thing about this filter is having to rinse it out,all is good to me.

I order my oil ( Rev Tech 30/50 wt Pure) and filters from JP Cycles and have it dropped on my doorstep. To me it's worth the few bucks in shipping plus nobody around here stocks the Rev Tech that I know of.
