Most of the time when forum members post here it is because they have a problem or complaint. This is a little different. Yesterday we were pulling a nose cone off of an EVO using our trusty Trock nose cone puller tool. It has what looks like a large allen set screw that presses against the cam and forces the nose cone off easily. as we got to the end the allen part fractured. Now this tool doesn't owe us a dime, we pulled hundreds of nose cone with it over the years.
So I called Trock Tools looking to get a replacement screw or tool and talked to Ron Trock Jr. I found out that his dad had died, If you never met or talked to Ron Sr. then you really missed something he was an intelligent, superior machinist and will be missed, however his son is just as nice and still doing machine work on harleys. Anyway back to the story, Ron Jr. told me they sold off the tool division to a Bill Hamburg of Hamburg tools. I made the call to Bill and inquired about a replacement screw. Imagine my suprise when he told me that he would warranty it and send me a replacement right away. This is one reason why we should try to buy stuff from American suppliers and support them as much as possible. It really restored my faith in the industry.
