Maybe this is a better question in the Touring area, however I know you guys better here and know that a number of you have a lot of wisdom beyond the Evo's!
I would like to put the shocks from my 96 Wideglide on my 05 bagger. (The stock air shocks make it ride like a lumber wagon!) If it wont work, please let me know why. I know a bagger is heavier than the dyna, but it has to be better than what I have.
I just got laid off so I cant go out and buy a set........
Yes, the will bolt right on but the reverse of what you expect will happen. They will ride like bricks. Dyna's have a much higher spring rate than baggers. That can be shown by looking at the placement of the shocks. On a Dyna, the shocks are under the rider and at a steeper angle, on a bagger they are much farther back and under the passenger. Thats why when people try to run bagger air shocks on a Dyna, they bottom out horribly the minute you put a passenger on. Its all about where the leverage occurs.
My wife and I have friends that live in Spring Valley and were there recently! Bikerlaw is probably right-make sense to me. I still am thinking about trying it-I have more time than money!
