Default Not the throwout bearing

96 Electra Classic. 40K miles. I've been having clutch issues, mainly the amount of play varying. Put a new cable on a couple months ago but still have the issue. Went to the dealership and bought a new throwout bearing and all the rods, oil slinger, etc to change it out. I drained the tranny fluid and found 1/2 dozen or so pieces of metal and what looks like a piece of a clip so I thought I had founf my problem. When I pulled the side cover off and pulled the bearing it is all intact and looks in good shape. I'm going to attach a picture of the pieces of metal and clip for reference. Any advice on what to check next would be greatly appreciated.

That horrible pic makes the big chunk like a gear tooth fragment. Pull the trans before you ride again. Something in there is getting ready to grenade. The pin has been pulled and the handle is about to spring up!

Lift the top cover off the transmission and have a look, check the snap ring that is on the shifter pawl, also there is one on the shifter drum.

It's defintiely parked until I get it figured out. I've been dealing with a mother-in-law who had heart surgery, out of town visits from other family and a crisis with my teenage son so haven't had time to get into it. I plan on roping of a section of the garage this weekend, getting some cardboard and ziploc bags so I can clearly mark parts and tear into it this weekend. Thanks to all for the advice.
