Default EZ Pull

Guys I bought the wifey an 89 heritage softail and going to pick it up at beginning of week, I know for a fact she can pull the clutch lever on my 89 flht but I also know her hand is going to get sore. I bought an ez pull from a site on the net for her 99 Sporty and its cats meow, problem is I can't find the place I ordered it from and I want to get one for her softail. Can I get some direction?

While you are putting it in make sure you lube the cable well. Take some aluminum foil and make a funnel out of it and duct tape it to the top of the cable, pour a little 10 weight oil in it and let it set, moving the cable now and then at least overnight. This will make squeezing it a lot easier. Hope this helps.

I had one on my wife's 883. It burned up the new clutch. The problem is that the "easy" part comes from better leverage, and better leverage means the clutch action is not as long as the OEM pull.

That picture is of a burly adapter. I had one of those and I didn't like it near as much as the clutchlite. It replaces the whole ball and ramp. It comes in 20,30,or 40 percent letoff. I replaced the burly which is supposed to be 40% reduction with the soft clutchlite which is 30% and they had about the same feel as far as tension. The clutchlite overall feels smoother. As far as the clutch burning, as long as you set it with the correct amount of lever play when the clutch is all the way out I don't see how it can hurt anything. However with less amount of clutch travel if you have a grabby clutch or any other clutch issues it will be harder to get into neutral and may affect shifting between gears because you are basically not pulling the clutch all the way in.

my wife also wanted a softer pull on our 98 fxdl. i put on a harley ez pull and it was a little better. i then put on an mrc clutch along with a new barnett cable and it pulls like butter. really, its an awesome combo. never worry about her burning the clutch.
