I want to get my rods and lifters replaced along with the cam shaft bearing.
If I get the parts, what should I expect to pay to get the work done?
I know nobody can be exact, and rates vary by mechanic, but I am just trying to get a ball park or at least your expectactions.
Rob if it were my bike I would probably just invest in the tool for removing the cam bearing yourself and reinstalling it. The rods are a simple snip and replace with quick installs ( I like andrews ) and the lifters are also a no brainer seeing as the old ones will be out anyway and although I've never done the bearing but did have it done couple winters ago seeing as my guy was overhauling the bottom end, I would imagine there are a few very qualified guys here that would be more than willing to share experience.
I'm a shade tree mechanic and I can do the job on a bagger in under 4 hours. I'd guess a skilled wrench could do it in half that time maybe less so depending on his shop rate 200 or less seems right.
