Nice pics ! had a '50s pan also: 15 over springer front end. Loved that bike, except when it decided it didn't want to start, which was half the time !

Only have one picture left somewhere.... Didn't have the digital tech stuff like we do now. I'll bet I have a couple hundred pics of the old '56 Ford I'm working on !

Thanks for posting the pics.

That's funny stuff ! rebuilt my '71 FLH in the kitchen back when I lived in San Diego. Wife wasn't too happy, but what the hell: she didn't cook anyway !

Yeah, it would be nice to still have the panhead. By the time I sold it in 1975 it was a swing arm and only 6" over with a sportster front end, painted all black. My pan started really easy, now my 67 XLCH sporster w/SU carb was a different story. Man that thing was a bear to start.

Started on a 58 pan.....my first HD, ex cop bike. Was still black and white with the radio mounting plate on it when I got it. Loved that bike, had it for 12 years till it was ripped off, would probably still have it.

Ah....I remeber the 70's, when we built custom bikes, rather than just assempling mass-produced "custom" parts :-)
