Default King Spoke (Fat Spoke) Wheels by Ultima

Some time ago (bikerlaw) posted a thread in the Softail section about these 48 Fat Spoke wheels by Ultima. They're literally dirt cheap in comparison with Ride Wright or DNA. In fact they're about 30% the cost of Ride Wright and 50% the cost of DNA. His thread sparked my interest being that I was in the market for Fat Spoked wheels. The quality looked great from the pics he posted and he was impressed with their quality. So I got right on it to see what they're all about.

When I called Jireh last November they had the rear wheel in stock but the front wheel had been on back-order since September. So I went ahead and ordered the rear. Figured it would be a good chance to check it out before committing to both wheels. When it arrived I was very impressed, especially for the cost. The rear wheel was $238.00 shipped. Fortunately the front wheel just came in a couple of weeks ago and I immediately jumped on it. I've only got $486.00 into the pair of wheels and that's a great price for a set of Fat Spokes. BTW, King Spokes with Black rims & hubs with Chrome nipples & spokes are even cheaper!

At this time they're only making these wheels for 3/4" axle Evo's, so the Twinkie Drivers are out of luck for now. Also keep in mind I only have 25 miles on them so far, so I can't advise on how well the China made bearings will hold up, but I'll just keep checking them when the bikes on the lift getting cleaned. So if you're considering Fat Spoke wheels, own an Evo, and money's tight, you might want to take a look at these.

Jireh will always have the lowest price on these wheels. Their contact infomation is: Phone 877-681-0448 Web http://www.jirehcycles.com/

Thanks again to (bikerlaw) for the original thread. I was just about to drop $1k on a set of DNA's. That thread saved me over $500.00 Name: thumbsup.gif

Thanks guys. I will keep the thread updated. About the only issues I can think of that could come up would be bearing failure, air leak or lose spokes. BTW the wheels were designed to run tubeless so that's what I'm doing. They sealed a rubber band covering the spokes ends and it looks very secure. we'll see.

Nice ride I am thinking about putting these wheels on my 97 Fatboy. Were these a direct fit or did you have to modify anything or buy more parts? I think my stock wheels are 3x16 and the Ultima wheels are 3.5x16

We've sold 5 or 6 sets of these over the last few years and so far no complaints. They are impressive!
