Radio/Speaker Options
1989 Electraglide Classic with stock tape player and stock speakers it appears. Looking to upgrade nothing too crazy or custom but must retain handlebar controls. What kind of options do we get if any with the older bikes and what speaker sizes??
on my '95 I had a set of polk speakers which worked pretty good about $70 at Fry's
used a delphi fm modulator kit for my XM radio, and later used it to plumb my ipod into the system.
and wired in a headphone jack so I could use my earbuds and keep the music in and the road noise out.

When I had my 89 glide, the last time I had checked with biketronics, thier kit went back to 90 and was not a plug and play for the 89. no other places had setups for the older Glides at the time.
I installed the biketronics kit on my buddies 90 Glide and it is a great system in my opinion and was a good bang for the buck. He is very happy with it.
For my 89, I ditched all of the stock stuff including the hand control stuff. Went with a Pioneer deck with IPOD , wired to an ARC amp mounted on a custom bracket - there is no way to just put it on top of the deck in the 89 and have the outer fairing fit. then went with 4 ARC speakers. Kicked *** and was crytsal clear out on the highway.
