Well, inspired by this thread, I filled her up with regular this morning. The bitch don't like it! Dieseled once and pinged under load when it got hot (stop and go traffic for an hour at 80+ degrees). I think I'm good for that extra buck per tank.

You guys also need to consider your jetting plays a big role in this stuff, there's no reason a 8.5 to 1 Harley should need premium when jetted correctly, atleast not around here in the Midwest anyway.

I'm all about saving some coin when I can. But when it comes to fuel, I always use 93 if available or 92.....my custom evo was built pretty good, high compression! Mikuni carb, cam etc, she ran good on whatever I filled up with, but My EGlide runs like pure **** on regular, and it don't matter wher I buy it. Around here shell and bp are the best fuel you can buy. I used 89 once and it just sucked. Never again. Variables or not I'll never skimp again, I too learned something tonite tho, one hose gas is mid grade........that kinda sucks, but it makes undeniable sense.
