Ok so I'm 100 miles from no where in the hills of Arkansas. Suddenly My handle bars turn into a smoke bomb.
Bike dies. Now what?
So I get my knife and cut the wires going to handle bars do a little roadside engineering and jump the starter and made it back to the house. Now I have to rewire the bike (well the front half)
Never done this but it looks pretty straight forward. Wire in the bars looks like 22 or 20 awg. Should I run bigger if I can get through? Any advice would be great 1988 Evo FLH

Keep the same gauge wires. You can search the better bike catalogs and find controls with wires . As a plus you can also get them in chrome and a new front master cylinder is a pluss too!!! That way you will have stock colored wires which will make trouble shooting in the future for you or if you sell it, for the next owner.
Found 48" handlebar wiring harness (stock colored) Ebay $19 switches are good. Looks like I will have to go the the dealer to get the vinyl sleeve to chase wires through. With a little luck should be riding next week.
Wiring done, better than ever. Ran wires through frame. Found black tubing at Home Depot $10 for 15 feet. Handle bar wiring harness Ebay 19 bucks solder, shrink wrap, wire ties and various other stuff 25 bucks.
