Yeah, you scored there. If that's the original carb, it was a POS from the beginning, so if you get it back to factory new condition, it will still be bad.
Schematics would be good. I got it at my brothers house which is 100 miles from where I live. I am in OKC and work for the #1 HD dealer in the region. My brother is going to see what he can do for me. I do want a service manual for it.

Thanks for all the good words and any help words of wisdom would be great to hear.
The CV carbs are a good choice these days. I use a S&S on my bike and it has good performance, if a bit thirsty. I have a Screaming Eagle, bought in '87, that would work well if you want some kind of "original performance" theme, but I like the S&S better.
When you go with the new carb, also change the intake manifold to get rid of the "compliance fittings" style on there now. That was a problem.

CV is a very good upgrade. If the CV doesn't have a knurled mix screw get one. Needle and jets will vary. I use a 48-185 with a sporty needle no shims stock motor. Change the intake to solid.Throttle Cables(pre97) and clutch cable will need to be 6 over for mini apes.
I need some help here I need a front brake master cylinder and brake lever. I know that is broken. I am picking up oil and filter to change it out prior to starting it.
What is the best oil that you reccomend for the bike?
