Like you said "a $1k door could be opening" in regards to injected. So just be ready to jump ship and go carb. My understanding was that as originally sold the injection was crap and tough to get right...
Otherwise sounds like a fun project.
We'd love to know how much she is being sold for.
Ooops I didn't see page #2.
So my friend, consider going with a reman for you engine. S&S is the ****, but way more $$ than what you probably want to invest. Reman is half and totally stock. You would have a brand new Evo bike since everything else is in such xlnt cond.
That would indeed be very cool.
with my 96 RK Ifirst used a dobeck type tuner when I went stage 1 but I had a flat spot that I could never get rid of. I put a Cobra fi2000 pro tuner on it and it runs like a dream now. When I first got the bike, I bought a 97 ECM with the thought of installing, but it's not plug and play. It's still lying in my garage somewhere. The only other issue I've had with M&M was the idle and that was easy to remedy as you found. I understand that idle speeds drift over time and you may have to adjust again. I didn't find that on mine.
