2012 SG demo
First thing I noticed was the grips, then the exhaust, the seat and seating position. With my feet on the floor boards I felt like I my knees were up around my ears.(I'm 6'2" but wow)
Once I got rolling it didn't get much better.Power band was nice as well as the balanced feel but that's where it ended for me.
In my opinion there were too many distractions on the fairing what with all the gauges and such. The engine heat was outrageous at stop lights.
My wife liked the color and the overall look until I started a list of things I would do to it just for starters.
New exhaust(too quiet),new grips(horrible feel),new seat(can the moco find a harder seat? Yikes)Like sitting on a brick.Highway pegs(to stretch out from the fetal position I felt on the floorboards)
In the end I felt like the bike was just generic with no soul.Just a disconnect between me and the bike.
Talked with the salesman whom I respect and told me the same thing(he rides an EVO)
His opinion was that a lot of people want the name but coming to Harley from metric cruisers they want the same feel and I have to admit,it felt a lot like riding my old Goldwing from years back.
Sorry for the rant and nothing against anyone who owns a newer model HD but the SG just wasn't for me.
