Default Ignition Sensor connector

I have a new Ignition Sensor (34200-82B) but it did not come with the 3 pin barrel connector...it just has leads with pins.

So I guess I need to remove the pins from the old one...any secret to that? Do you just yank them out with pliers? I didn't see anything about a tool to poke them out, like with some connectors I've dealt with.

Or should I order a new connector?

There is a tiny tang, barb or whatever you wanna call it on the pins, flatten that and withdraw the pin.

Take a small paper clip. Straighten it out then fold it in half. That will give you something to depress the tang on the connector.

Push the connector into the block then use the paper clip to depress the tang. At that point you can slip the connector out of the block very easily. You have to push the connector in so that when you depress the tang it doesn't get hung up on the block.

They make an expensive tool to do this but the paper clip will work.

We must be talking about some different pins and connectors because that is not the way this one is built.

I assume the original pins will look like the ones that came on the new sensor.
The pins on the new sensor do not have any tang. There are 2 hollow female pins and one solid male pin. Just past the contact area they become thinner, then closer to the wire end they have another fat ridge...so it seems something inside the connector must grab or clamp at the thinner part.

If nobody has seen this, then I'll try to upload a pic when I get some time.
