Lately I've been getting this sound from the primary side that sounds somewhat like a skateboard rolling down a sidewalk.I only hear this noise while the bikes moving. When its cold I don't hear it. Then as it warms up I'll start to hear it when I'm shifting up or down. Then when the bikes at operating temp. I can hear it while cruising, but under acceleration it seems to go away but I have loud pipes so it might be masking it.Its been getting more noticiable each time I ride it ,but not any louder I just hear it more often.
Hmmm, check your compensator sprocket nut and clutch nut aren't loose...clutch nut is left hand thread, torque values are 165 ft/lbs for comp and 85 for clutch.
While you are in there take a look at the pad on the primary chain adjuster, make sure it isn't worn through...could also be clutch main bearing and a heap of other stuff but you gotta take a look inside the primary fairly soon by the sounds of it.
