Brand new Ultima 2000i came in the mail today and I'm little kid excited. Im putting it in this weekend. Any advise or is it pretty straight forward if I follow the directions. Solder and heat-shrink right? Did I mention I'm really excited.
Set the module by the timing method Ultima recommends, uses a crankshaft timing mark and rotate the plate until a light comes on, gives plenty of flexability with the advance settings.
Set your advance at 1 and check for detonation at 45-55 mph throttle roll on in 4th and 5th gear and move towards 4 until detonation goes away, 1 will probaly work with a stock engine.
One more thing, if the bolt that holds the timing rotor on the cam doesn't have a thread locker on it, put some on it.

I used heat shrink up to right where the wires attach to the ignition. For me, it was easier to pull wires through the nose cone and leave a loop unpulled. I then mounted the ignition with the standoffs and did the timing procedure. After tightening down the ignition, I pulled the wires all the way through and tucked them under the ignition a little.
