I have been looking for a stabilizer to better the handling, and reduce the wobble on my bike. There are a few products out there for the newer style frame- like after '93, but i'm not having any luck for something that would fit on my bike - 1988 FLHS -
Thought I would throw it out there and see what other guys with this frame and swing arm have done -
I can offer you some help on this subject! Read my thread Bagger Wobble, which explains what is going on in your bike.
The executive summary is to replace your cleve block swingarm bushings, if they are still there. There are various brands of solid bushings available from the likes of HDF sponsor Motorcycle Metal. That will remove one source of the infamous wobble.
As for a stabilizer, my link gives my solution, namely a True-Track kit, also from an HDF sponsor. That will solve the root cause of wobble. With those two installed you will have a new bike! When you've read up come back with any queries.

+1 on the True Track kit. I got the 'Trackula' kit which comes with everything you need, including solid bronze bushings to replace your worn-out cleve blocks, swingarm pivot etc. The one I got for my '89 will fit your '88 as well. I replaced the other motor mounts at the same time for maximum stability, and when it was all done it felt like the bike was riding on rails.
Do yourself a big favor and check out "Glide Pro" out of Santee, Ca. before you decide. Watch his install and info vid clips before you decide. I went with the Glide Pro upgrade for the swingarm "donuts", front motor mount, and the bushing upgrades he recommends too and am estatic about the results.
