The one pinion assembly I had before had a spacer and single keyway with left hand thread.
I just picked the parts up from hd has the oiler gear with spacer built in. My keyway with the 90 gears on the 93 shaft only let the smallest part of the t keyway fit in the pinion shaft. So I got these new gears in hope that the keyway goes a little farther into the pinion gear. I'm not sure if the nut is coming loose I will let you know tommorow I start digging into it. I'm thinking the key is shearing because there is t enough of the keyway going into the pinion. Let me know how that loctite works out for you.
alright well i just went in and installed everything but the pinion gear. I did notice with the correct oiler gear i have more of the t-key sticking out. I also notice when I put the 93 pinion gear on the gear doesnt go all the way on the key. But when i put the 90 gear on the key goes all the way. Im going to mismatch the parts since the pinion gear gets more of the key with the 90 pinion and 93 oiler gear. I did notice that my nut a little loose i still had to take a socket to it but im not sure of the shops work im wondering if they even had teh correct tool to tighten it. Thats a whole nother story that I will tell you now.
I took my bike into a shop to have them fix it when i got it back it was still jacked up. When I pulled the nosecone off today I noticed they had the cam gear washer just sitting in the gear compartment so im not even sure if they torqued it the way they were suppose to. This shop did some ratchet as work to my bike and im about to go have a word with them tommorow. Not only that but they also disconnected my rear brake line from to my master cylinder so if it did happen to run I would have gotten into a horrible accident seeing how all i have is a rear brake.
So then your using the 93 oil gear with the 90 style pinion gear , went and bought a complete lower end from ebay complete with the gears intact thing is the guy can't be sure if it an 88 or 92 which is either single or twin keyway any chance u can take a pic of your gears? Fitted or not or both
