Default Digital speedo 1998 dyna fxd

Gday guys,
My speedo has packed it in. I was looking at some dakota digital ones. There isnt any plug and play for that age group. How much stuffing around is it to put a digital one on? Im just not sure how many add ons I need to buy after the initial speedo purchase?
Thanks for any help.

The ones I have fitted had a rev counter and all the idiot lights built in. It wired into the existing wires, including speedo sensor and was easy to do if you like soldering.

I had mine shipped from Australia and they could be switched to either mph or kmh.

What special connectors do you need?
Isn't your speedo run off the tranny?

speedo wires into your VSS, my dakota came with a new 3pin pigtail connector, ready to be spliced into the DD harness. they do caution you to wrap/seperate the VSS wires though, to keep them from causing interference (or getting interference?)

mine was really straight forward to wire in. only thing i'm "changing" is extending 3 wires for new digital oil pressure / oil temperature / tach (my RKC didnt have one before)
