Bob Wood W-6 cam
10.0 cr.
Our Stage II Heads
Dyna 2000i or Crane HI-4
Either a re-worked CV, 42 Mik, or S&S E
Supertrapp 2/1, Thunderheader, or Cycle Shack 2/2's.
80-85 hp, low 90's torque, with EXCELLENT fuel economy.
Must've built 75-100 of these over the years.......
Reliable, smooth combination.
Not enough?
A bit more compression and a Wood 8.
That will hover @ 95 hp, and 95 ft/lbs.
Scott
That sounds great. How is the 10.0 CR achieved? Through milling, gaskets, or piston swap?
What would be the parts list and cost? Assuming I send in my heads for the stage II and new valves/springs, cam, bearing upgrade, lifters, push rods, ignition, and what carb work on my CV...
How much am I giving up over thunderheader with my samson 2-2 exhaust? I just put it on, hate to throw away $600 if it's only a few HP....
zimm, best if you contact Scott direct, to talk things through in detail. I changed from Samson TDs to a Supertrapp Supermeg and gained 15% torque in the mid range. That is a serious improvement! Bike was set up on a dyno for each system, by the same dyno man. What really surprised me is how much smoother and sweeter running my bike is, something I hadn't expected. The only change was the exhaust system, plus fine tuning on the dyno. I am a 2-into-1 convert!
For the carb work I would stay with the CV , get with Ken at CVperformence.com , if you already have the supertrapp stay with it , best 2-1 out there , I'am not up to date with hillside , But have heard a lot of good about them , also there's veetwins down in Fla kirby builds & drag races these engines he's on HTT.com or bike-talk.com theres a guy in canada who swears by his work & with the shipping cost in & out of there he must be good
scott: for the hell of it, what are you guys running for slow/main jets on a build like that? (W6 / 10:1 / 42 mikuni / supertrapps / dyna2000)
looking at the possibility of getting mine started tomorrow, and gotta get it dialed in *enough* that I can take it down the highway (gotta calibrate the new speedo...dont wanna rack up thousands of miles when it hits the dyno in a few weeks lol)
