Congrats for persevering and getting her going, I just wonder why when you used the ether earlier she did not start. Perhaps the coil wires were the wrong way round in the begining, A double fault is always the hardest to find, Well done to the EVO guys for getting this one sorted,

VERY Happy to see this is resolved. It is going to bug you not knowing exactly what it is but I am certain you will figure it out. Congrats Traildog!

I used Carb cleaner the first time. I probably sprayed too much into the carb.

I've never heard of using carb cleaner as a starting agent, I don't believe it to be combustible enough, I'll stick with ether, but that's just my opinion.

Thanks Traildog, for all the play by play. My old girl has recently developed a rear base gasket leak so I'll be doing a top end myself one of these days soon. I have learned a lot from your experience and from others on this forum. Hopefully if I have any problems when the time comes you and others can give some advice when I really need it!

Thanks again and Ride Safe. I hope you have some rideable weather before spring!
