Were these 'plug and play'? Where did you get them? Most of the LED kits I've seen for Harley specify late model bikes only.

I got these from Autozone, plugs right in, there's probably better out there for a better price, but so for no problems.

That's 8 lights just on the rear,
volt gauge does not drop anymore when useing brakes, three 1157's had more draw than I thought.

Even the small fender tips and tour pack lights drew more than I thought, forgot how much it was when I was checking everything out, but was significant amount.

The 1157 led are mostly directional, and don't really light up the license plate through the clear part of the lense like a regular bulb, I just keep one old bulb on the bike, just in case some leo gives me grief about it.

The lights look amber in the picture, but are really nice and bright red.

Hey Doc, any chance on getting a blow-by-blow of the install and maybe even some pics?

Yeah, I'll see what I can do. It is just a bit larger than the last Alpine amp I had, the 18 Watt/channel one. That one I had double stickum taped to the inside of the fairing for >10 years. I'll probably do the same with this one. It came in today. Nice looking unit. The 4 channels are bridgeable to 2. Not sure I need 90 watts/channel, or that my speakers could handle that, but cool anyway.

I _Think_ the red one should be constant and the yellow should be switched. I didn't trace it out, but I think the black is ground. Check with your meter.

I know people want millions of dollars for the factory set-up and the radio is too old for the manufacturer to fix it.

Looking for opinions.....

Biketronics has a sony solution for the bike. I had this for my 88 FLHTC. Its good. but the speakers are pooooo because of the size.

Keep in mind that "200 Watts" is really: 200/4 channels = 50 Watts PEP, * 0.707 =35 Watts (maybe) RMS per channel and that 35 Watts is at some distortion figure (THD) like 3% that would make your ears bleed. To find a closer value for the total wattage of the radio, look at the fuse in the main power (switched) lead. A 5 amp fuse will only allow 60-ish watts of power through to the radio.

As long as it sounds good to you and you like it. $30 is pretty cheap. I've had good (relatively) and not-so-good results with $30 radios in cars. I now just stick a $100 Alpine in them.
