Dammit that's only my second mistake this year then, we mess with GSXR on this forum, I thought they were the same.

V-Thunders are good cams, gets the job done with normal lobes and produce good power, they are quiet and easy on componants, the 3020 is well liked by many that has come thru here. EV27 and Woods have a race style lobe design that keeps valves open for a long time but can become clatter prone if things don't go right

Ran a V-thunder 5005 for a while and quality products, ran a old school Dave Mackie 581 before coming across a Woods W6H for $40 so it was worth a try, has been in the White Bike for 3 years and quiet as a church mouse

One of my riding buddies put the DM581 in a 10.5-1 80" Evo softail and that bike is a handfull, he embarrasses alot of big cubic inch bikes, I have a stroker engine with matching componants and have to keep my eye on him, those 80 inchers are sleepers

Yea Bagger, after talking with gxr about things, and checking into cams, thats the very reason i decided to go with the 3020, the lobes..seems to be the quieter out of the bunch...thats the last thing I want is a noisy valve train. Some have said they used the other cams and no problems, like you,and some said that were noisy too!So thats a chance I didnt want to take.but like you said, they all get the job done..=)

i'll be honest with you, junglejoe... i DID have a 3010 in there before the ev27 and didn't notice any difference in noise between the two...maybe i don't have good hearing, i don't know... but i couldn't tell

The thunder 3020 will be quiter than w6 in general and do all you want. Cam swaps are fairly cheap do. w6 is a bit hotter cam.
