Forgot about the 6 speed, 21t might work better,
the only trade off is the starter will work a little harder.
Click on chain fitment chart in the first link,
21t- 36t with 80p chain and stock shoe, according to the baker site.

Looks like your going in the right direction. I did my mods at 13 miles, straight from dealer. No problems to date.
I am now about to roll to 13k. Runs strong, fine on the highway, but really built it for red light to red light, bar to bar.
