Actually Scott originally did the top end of my 98 EVO, heads and w6 cam, added w/screamin eagle ignition, excellent torque to 5800 rpm. Very responsive and really kicks the crap out of a lot of newer bikes....A couple of years later I went to 10.5:1 wisco's and had scott redo a brand new set of stock heads to accept the new pistons, (old heads were cracked between the spark plug and exhaust valve) I did not bore the cylinders but did clean them up .005 and the motor dino'd out to 94lbs torque and 85 hp but that was with Vance n Hines big radius pipes which actually caused a problem with flow on the rear jug as told by the guys at Rosa's on Long Island so I put the Python 3 drag pipes back on, the exhaust flows through the pipe with less resistance which makes it breath a lot better. to date I can get rubber grabbing third gear. If money is a problem just do the top end w/cam you'll be very happy and over time learn your ride and do the pistons yourself at a later date. enjoy.....

I'm leaving my stock pistons in there for now. Maybe over the winter I'll upgrade if I feel like I need it with pistons. I want to see what 9:1 and my new cam does first. It'll be winter before I have enough play money to do any more anyway.

I haven't done lots of research, but you are the first person I've heard saying the KB's are junk. What's the story?

I understand money flow my friend. Im a poor man myself. As far as 10.1 cr not working with a 3010 or an ev27 is pure BS. Those are the exact cams Im working with now and may go with a w6 later. I have the proof in the pudding sitting in my garage.
I keep hearing on HDF how folks are scared to go 10.1 because of gas ping. Im hear to tell you, fear not. Compression is vital for power. 10.1 has worked perfect for me. Im not trying to be unnerving but the truth needs to be said and shared.

With my 10.1 cr Im am going to be using Ev27, 3010, w6 cams. Right now there is a Ev27 in it and it's pretty quick with only 200 mi on the build. My point is, fear not the 10.1 cr.
