Default ignition sensor plate

somehow in cam replacement the sensor plate got damaged. the filler that is over the wires got peeled back and the ground wire got pulled out. any idea what that filler is? and anyone has seen this be repaired?

I think I would fill it with silicone sealer or bathtub calk. There should only be those three wires coming out and it looks like they are attached in the picture. A new one from Ronnie's HD is like $56.00. Maybe someone will chime in here with a better repair.

The sensor is over heating and melting the potting material. This material not only seals the unit it also helps in drawing heat out of it. Judging from the "witness marks on the plate you may have the timing a little off from where it was originally. This can make the engine run a little hotter. Time for a new one.

Just get the stock one. Set the timing with a timing light.
