Default 1987 low rider

I recently bought a 1987 low rider with a wrecked front end and I'm also new to the Harley community. I was wanting to know if sportster front ends are the same and compatable with this bike and if so what years? And also the wide glide front ends, are they compatable and if so what years? This bike has a 21" wheel and a single disc brake. Thanks for the help! Rail dude.

I thought the X in FXR stood for XL front en so it should be a sportster. what's bad, the forks or the triple trees or is everything toast? I think the sportster an wide glide ones will work as long as it's a 1" stem (older sportsters my by 7/8). The only problem is fork stops an locks. If you have either internal or the replacement has them internal you may have a mis match problem. Single or dual disk sliders don't matter if you don't mind the mounts on the lowers just being there.

Just the forks are bad.. the tripple trees are OK and the wheel is bent bad. I've done some more researching and as far as I know all the Harley bikes have the 1" stem except the the older ones like you said that have the 7/8.... so I'm guesing that most of the newer Harley front ends will be compatable with my bike... except if I do go with the wide glide I will have to change out my triple trees..thanks for the reply and info. Rail dude.

Just pick up some new fork tubes and rebuild them. Cost $200 with new seals, tubes and o rings
