Im trying to rewire my bars to clean them up. Ive moved the start button to the center console on my 86 1340 and it will crank (with the black and gray wires) but seems to have no spark. Do I need to tie in the white wire from the kill switch?
Thanks for your help.
My new starter button is a 2 wire.
Black goes to starter relay
Gray from keyed switch
White goes to coil where do I tie it in?

Welcome Buffalo ., to help you it is required that you list the year and model of the bike , especially for electrical questions.
As you apperantly do not have a manual, the only way we can find the info. you require is by accessing manuals. Without a model ID it is a no go.
Another suggestion is ., if you are trying to install a switch that is incompatible with the original system , such as a two wire switch to fit a three wire system , i would suggest you dont go there and try to simplify by installing a more compatible switch.
