Default Front end wobble…normal?

Ok guys, here's where you realize that I really am an idiot. I have always had a bad habit of taking my hands off the handlebars when I decelerate and downshift to a stop ( not always but a lot). I've noticed that if I haven't downshifted to the corresponding lower speed, the bars will start to wobble to and fro. But when I then kick her down to the appropriate gear, she's fine. Was wondering if that would be normal or if it sounds like my fork neck bearing is going bad? Shortly after I bought my 06, I was pulling this stunt and it darn near threw me off the bike. This is nowhere near that bad, but I'm wondering if it could be same issue….same front end components in my 95? I would have to think some of you do the same thing when slowing down, or should I not even ask??

LOL A little risky but hell we all ride diff. Who am i to tell you how to ride. Get it up on a jack and check the fall back as per manual Sounds like bearing may need to be tightened just a touch. My 98 doesn't do it at all

Cool

What engine speed is the engine running at? It's just possible, if it is slow, it has started to shake more than when at normal riding speeds. Many bikes will shake their heads to some degree, while riding with no hands, the front end is no more than a shopping trolley caster, after all!

To minimise it ensure your tyre is in good shape, plenty of tread and pressure is correct. And don't take your hands off the bars......

Tire pressure is correct. I don't do that if I'm above 65 or 70 mph….just kidding. Maybe from 40 mph on down. I also have another neat little stunt I've perfected over the years. But if ever left this open and the wifey got wind of it, the bike would be history for sure.
