The problem is it is hard to shift when idling, if I rev it up a bit she shifts smooth but sitting still is more difficult. Cable is adjusted properly and I just did the inner primary bearing for a noise, not the clutch bearing.
Only the one on the top of the transmission is the one I cranked all the way in, slack. If I rev it a bit it goes in happy buy idling and trying to shift is very hard.
What was the noise that you were hearing in the primary?
I found out on my 1988 model that clutch adjustment can be affected by outside forces like, having the drive belt adjusted too tight. On my wife's 93 sporty 883/1200 I cannot get the clutch adjusted until I warm up the engine. Then it adjust very easy. While things are cold I have never been able to get it adjusted properly.
Dont have the manual and budget is tight (yes $40 is tight right now). I will try to explain a bit more since i am at a full keyboard. When I am sitting still it is fine, when I revv the engine to 1500 or so it is smooth, sitting still it is almost like a rock is wedged under the shifter and I have to stomp on it, neutal is impossible to find unless I rev it up. I just had the inner primary off to fix a bearing, put about 100 miles on it since then and it started acting up.
