Default 91 Ultra Frame section arrived!

Just thought I would let those interested in my "Harley Ultra Rust" update.
The Frame section arrived today after having been sent from UK to Ireland instead of Scotland. It looks fine bearing in mind it is over 22 years old.
Also,it came from New Hamps/Mass which isnt particulary noted for its sunny climate. All things considered, I believe have rescued my Ultra from the Scrapheap as it really was beyond saving due to the serious rust.
Pics. of section posted. Bungo.

If you want to do it all the way I would redo the powder coating when you get it welded on.

Can't wait to see how she comes together!

Looks MUCH better than what you had!

Take your time and make sure to get her in there precisely where the old one was.

Yeah...the pics. of original rust at the S.Arm mounts show how bad it can get. Cant be many (any!) like that in the warm/er US States.
Getting the "new" section lined up is ultra important as you say.
Will speak to the welder about a jig to keep everything spot on.
Also good advice previously from forum re. tack weld measure, tack weld measure. Bungo

Me too thc! At one point I thought that I wouldnt be starting the work until next Spring due to the difficulty & cost of sourcing a Frame.
Not too sure about the powder coating though because of cost & inconvenience. Im not sure if you guys use "Hammerite", or similar, paint or not but I have found it is easy to use and it seems to work well.
Im sure any painting done now on the Frame will see me in Boot Hill.
Have added some original pics. for anyone viewing this for the first time.
WARNING....Please watch with parents as there may be scenes of violence!
