Default fork seal leak again

Ok heres the problem I just got my dads fatboy and I mean just only put 500 miles since june due to work schedule anyways when I trailered it from az to ks I got a bit happy with the straps and wrenched her down all the way got to ks and first good ride there's a fork seal leak so to the indy she goes for new seals and while there a new mikuni just for fun. Get it back runs like bat out of hell thinking awsome no more problems except this weekend go for a decent lil breakfast ride bout 150 miles round trip and notice its leaking again. I watched the indy change the seals so I know they were done its only the left side that leaks any pointers. My indy did say that they looked a bit thinner then the ones that came out and he couldn't find a prob with the ones he removed so now what did I f up lol thanks guys sorry for the long post

There is probably no f up! If the tube has rsut spots in the chrome a seal can get cut up very quickly. On the other hand if the tubes are fine, get a fresh pair of seals put in and inspect closely while it's apart. There is not a lot that can go wrong with seals, I just bought a pair for my own bike. All being well new ones will be fine.

I have come across this before and only fit Genuine H-D seals now as the aftermarket ones suck.

You'll also need to look closely at the fork legs for signs of corrosion or wear, if the seal has worn through the chrome you can put the leg in a lathe and smooth it out with 40 grit emery but a new leg is the only real fix.
