Default Wide Glide Backrest

Hey Guys

Ive been looking for a backrest for a 97 Wide Glide....cant find anything on Ebay....and dont want to pay 400-500 bucks from Harley.

Any suggestions?.....I like those low backrests...but it seems its the spendy new trend.
Even something similar to stock would be cool....aftermarket?

Thanks

Murph

What are you referring to? A sissy bar or a back rest for the driver? The sissy bars came stock but a driver back rest would have been aftermarket with a aftermarket seat. I still have my original sissy bar but I use it when I use my T-bag. When checking eBay don't limit it to 1997 as I think any wide glide before 1998 would be the same for the sissy bar maybe even 1999. I'm not sure when they added the wider rear tire which would widen the sissy bar also.

if your talking about the sissy bar that's about 4-6 in in height , just enough to keep the OL from sliding off ,I think I have one with side plates ,But it depends on how wide your set up is , You can PM me & I'll double check in the morning weather permitting (heavy rains here )

97and 98are the same, check your manual. i know that j & p has no sissy bars for fxdwg. probably gonna have to check a different vendor, or buy used.

I found 4 for a 87 FXDWG at JP. All are listed as exact fits.

Thanks for the links!!
That is what I was looking for....but it looks like $$$ when all is purchased.
The bolts alone were 30 bucks.

Well at least there was an alternative to Harley parts.....thanks!!
