fxr primary leak

Default fxr primary leak

put my fxr together last week, road it it leaks primary fluid from the solenoid like crazy, took it apart found the boot (mine has the updated with a cup on the solenoid end) was waded up. the closest stealer had one, picked it up replaced it. got it all together rode it this morning same thing. bikes an 88 fxrs upgraded to splined main shaft and a 92 clutch, everything else is 88.

Too much primary fluid maybe? Is the gasket OK?

A friend of mine has an '85 FXE and he made a big deal of getting the right gasket for his starter solenoid one time.

Apparently they make different ones.

Are you sure you have the right one?

its a factory harley one, looked like the same one that was in my bike. im confused as to how so much is coming from there in the first place. i had a tiny leak from there till i got a new spyke solenoid then it got retarded. but the seal was all wadded up.

Are you saying your troubles started with the spyke solenoid?
If so check for your problem there.

not so sure. i had the same leak before just minor.
