Riding season. When I was in my 20's I would ride if the roads were anywhere near clear. I'm now in my 60's, I don't do that any longer.
So the bike is on the lift for year end service. Oil changes, lubes, cable maintenance, clutch adjust, lever greasing, new Jiffy Stand spring and bumper, a couple new heat shield clamps, etc. Got everything just about done, then I noticed that the dang shifter linkage was trashed. Front spherical joint bad, so the lever sort of just wallowed around. Hmmm... No wonder it was hard to find neutral on occasion. Ordered a new one, but that sets me back a few days from getting it into the storage unit.
Just hope the snow they were getting out west doesn't make it here...
here in pa, we've had 80+ degree weather all week into the weekend. kinda unusual for us so i took advantage and had a nice ride today. we get our share of snow but not nearly what you get up there. would not have to worry abot it if we lived in florida. i'll be shootin deer soon enough.
I'm in the same boat whether I like it or not. Elbow surgery on 10/30 so my final day is written in stone regardless of the weather. Lots planned for the winter in the shop though!
