AIM VPC on Evo
I´ve just finished my evo build, and I´m feeling some clutch slip in 4th and 5th at full throttle.
I already have a Barnett extra plate clutch kit, so I wanted to add an AIM VPC just to be sure.
But, I´m a little confused if I need to add a spacer to de Derby cover or not.
In the web there is a template but says that is only for 5 hole derby covers.
Has anybody used one of this? Can the template be used to check the Evo Derby?
Or should I order the spacer just to be sure?
Any info or experience with this would be great.
Best regards.
I hope it works for you but I have to say I don't like the idea of a lot more moving parts spinning around on a clutch.
I'd look for a different solution.
But ya gotta do what ya gotta do.
you MIGHT be able to hog out the backside of your derby cover with a grinder to make room for it, but the easier solution is a spacer (they make em). i havent seen a locker PP that doesnt need more clearance than whats available in there
My engine doesn't put out what yours will but I am very pleased with the performance of the Barnett Scorpion clutch. Have you checked with Barnett or any of the other clutch manufacturers about how their offerings will hold up?
I see the AIM VPC claims it lessens the clutch lever pull requirement.
The Barnett Scorpion lever pull for me is less than what my previous clutch required.

I've been warned against a Skorpion for this actually. they hold, but i know 4 local guys running them, all had the same complaint (grabbed like hell, but got VERY sticky after a few thousand miles...like it was constantly dragging/wouldnt release completely and adjustments didnt seem to help it at all.
right now, best option seems to be a Rivera Primo Pro clutch, middleweight spring, with a locker pressure plate. oughta keep lever effort equal (or less) than what I have now with a Barnett extra-plate with a heavy spring (which gets REAL old in traffic)

What state of tune is the bike in? Your clutch might just not be set up properly if you have under 100HP...
