....I other news H-D have recalled every motorcycle they ever built with a cable clutch because if the cable breaks the rider might not be able to slow down or stop....if you own a Harley Davidson DO NOT RIDE IT but ship it NZ where Spanners39 will dispose of it for you.....
No kidding. Let go of the throttle and it returns to idle. Press the EMERGENCY KILL SWITCH and the engine dies. Shut off the ignition switch, and the engine dies. Press the brakes, and the bike slows down. If someone has any riding experience at all and knows how to ride a bike, then those things should come as second nature.
There is absolutely no chance of the bike running away with someone. Just like the idiots that claimed Toyotas were running away with them. Shut the engine off or take it out of gear and the problem is solved.
Again, recognizing a problem, and taking appropriate action to address it. How long have these bikes been out? Seems like a pretty good response time to address this problem.
Also worth mentioning is I don't see anything inherently wrong with using a hydraulic clutch. Now if we were talking some kind of computerized clutch, then that would be different. That is also in line with my dislike of throttle by wire.
