You could do this. These things are the bees knees - custom-built Ohlins from HDF sponsor Motorcycle Metal. Howard there also offers JRI shocks now. Both come with springs matched to fit you and your ride, Ohlins are valved to Howard's special recipe.

While the stock FLHX rear shocks will fit on other baggers, lowering the rear without lowering the front will adversely affect the handleing of your bike. If you are a conservative rider, you may never feel it, but if you drag the kickstand, footboards, footboard mounts, highway pegs and thier mounts on both sides carving corners, you may have issues. Lower both ends to keep the steering geometry correct.
