It's a throwaway. Odd timing but worked slightly better than the carby cam due to the intake plenum and longer runners. (The front and rear cylinders don't interact as much)

Thanks, that makes sense.. Thought it was interesting that I haven't been able to find any spec's on it.. I was glad to see it though.. I always thought the bike ran pretty well for a big bagger ,and as I tore it down, I noticed new gaskets and a Torrington.. Started doubting my expectations of how much better it would run, almost expected to see an EV27 when I looked, although my gut knew it didn't run that good..

Well, got some more done today.. big thing was the tank.. Here's a few pic's that show all that needs to be done.. I found a tool that almost worked perfectly, there was a little improvising needed, but I'm happy with the end result!

In order to remove the internal pipes and fittings, I used a pair of side cutters to cut the tube, then broke it off.. Then, after removing the check valve, I inserted a piece of 1/2" copper tubing to protect the threads while I drilled out the internal/tube... Once that was out of the way, there was room for my Rigid 102 internal pipe cutter.. While it was not idea, it did fit in the Pingle fitting(used as a bushing) in order to get the cut started. Without some sort of bushing, the cutter wanted to ride up the threads. The fitting is pretty thick.. So, after making about 75% of the cut, I ran out of room and had to do it w/o a bushing.. Long story short, it worked pretty well..

As common as this appears to be, I was blown away with the lack of details and pic's.. I was hoping it would help...

As for the tank, I'm running out of funds for this damn snowball. So, since its not rusting, I plan to keep it full and run it!! Of course, I'll keep an eye on it and eventually revisit it, then figure something out. The POR15 product seems like the best option, some sort of acid would be needed to remove the old junk, but I really don't want to repaint..

Damn that looks familiar. Nice job. This inside of my tank looked the same with small areas flaking. I just cleaned it out the best I could. I pulled the Pingle a couple years later to see if any of the debris was sticking to the screen on it. It looked fine.In the Pingle directions it says to be careful pulling the petcock out of the tank in case there is debris stuck to the screen because it is a pretty tight fit in the hole.
