Default ANOTHER Rubber Mount Softail Thread...

OK, I understand why a softail EVO can't be rubber mounted (Only left side secured at primary/tranny etc) but what prevents modifying a softail frame to accept a rubber mount dyna EVO? Come on guys, folks have been asking for a solution to this problem since 1984... If we put our heads together we could sell the answer to Paughco and spent the rest of our days drinking cold beer in the Bahamas.

Nope, wanta EVO softail. Just don't want to shake my teeth out at highway speeds cause the engine is hard bolted to the frame.

I don't think my evo softail vibrates much at all. Then again, I got it to replace a shovelhead.

I have an EVO softail and it doesn't shake my teeth out at highway speeds.

I think you are looking for a solution to a problem that is not widely felt.

Good luck with what ever you do.

EVO rigid mount vibration has been an issue for a long time but not everyone seems to have it at the same level or speed. Tuning? Balance? I don't know but a lot of us are hoping someone will use the solution Harley eventually used on the sporty and dyanas... What year is yer softail and are there engine mods?

'95 Heritage ev-27 cam and an S&S carb other than that it is mechanically stock.

I for one like the motor mounted directly to the frame.

OK, I can't any answers there. I'm working a build that looks old school Knuckle but with new technology. (too old for a hard tail) I love the softail look but sure would like to soft mount a motor to it. Just can't find anyone who has had success trying. I'd be interested to know why you prefer the hard mount.

with a good seat & shocks & decent grips the hard mount ain't bad ,like I said I gave up a 03 E Glide for my 94 soft tail , had to , two bad knees & age , I did change from the seat that came with my bike but put a stock fat boy seat from a 2001 model so no custom high price seat , not sure of the shocks on it either , guy said the bike was all stock when I Bought it from him with 58 k miles now has about 66k on it the wife & I rode all over new Mexico from SE Texas about 400 miles a day , could have done more but the wife has some health issuses & that's about all she could handle
