...I got off in a small town, shook off the ice and pushed my bike, engine still running, for about half a mile, admittedly on a level road, to try to warm up.
I would have found the nearest pub, shut the engine off, walked in and snuggled up to the first wench I could find....
Used to do that in MN...when I was in my 20's. Now that I'm older/wiser and know the risks = no way!
With a name like yours?! Sounds like your natural environment. In my case we simply don't get the same severe cold weather as we did back in the 60s to 80s. And I've grown out of riding year round for the sake of it......

Forecast is 19* here today. The bike is in the grudge where it's 40*, I'm in the house where it's 67*. My Winter riding days are farther between than a few years ago, takes too long to warm these old bones after.

We recently watched a tv programme about the 1925 dog-team relay to deliver diphtheria serum cross-country to Nome, in the depths of an Alaskan winter. That sort of push - through the frontiers of human (well, Harley owning) endeavour!
I rode to work in the fall before the snow fell at about 15 degrees. Encountered some flurries on the way, but since it was dry road I continued on. Parked in the shop here at work for the day. I think that was my last ride that season due to the snowfall that came overnight. Gotta do all the riding you can in the great white north.
