John it's a balmy 12 in MA. I thought you'd be warmer down there in NJ. Going to have to get a garage heater this weekend or the bike is never going to be ready for spring. Any recommendations on cheap garage heat options?

Think the temps dipped to about the high 60s today in the San Francisoco Bay Area...almost needed thermals!

Hey the shop is in the north / west at the tail end of PAs Pocono mountains so we are 900 feet up and in the good riding hills for sure 5 miles away it rains well its snowing when that happens

the shops heat cant do the job with close to zero likeits been - well it has not been able to get above 60 the spot we leave it at at night so today i used one of the heaters we take on the road to the Motorcycle events - its called Mr Heater and its the one with 2 throw away bottles of gas and it has a switch with blower uses D batterys, the thing ran all day wide open and the batterys were still going but around 6 the gas ran out sooo its a keeper for me - it did the job today it brought the shops temp up 5 degrees

That happened to me once about 10 years ago. Car battery died in Feb. & I had to get to work. To this day I don't take my bike out unless it's 60 & sunny.

A few seconds after I took the pic, the road was covered with snow. As soon as he hit it, he slowed down and I saw the rear of the bike slip sideways a couple of times.

He signaled me and others to go around him.

There's someone who parks in the employee lot, that has ridden his scooter (sans any sheetmetal/plastic) to work on a couple of the most horrendous days this winter. He (I doubt it is a she), either is full blown nutso, lives close to work, doesn't have any other transportation, or is collecting a bunch of $$$ from his co-workers that are betting against him riding.

If I see it again, I'll snap a pic of it. I have zero idea what make/model/etc. it is, as it's really strange without any bodywork. Sort of a mini-bike on steroids, if ya get the mental image.

In 1969, I learned to ride in Chicago in January. Wore my snow mobile gear and was comfy enough. Last night, 45 years later, I went for a pleasure ride of about 60 miles for a cup of mud and slice of pie. Never got below 64°f. As we get older, we get wiser and choose better environs to live.
