Default 1999 FXSTB Diagnostic Codes

Hello All,

I have a 1999 Night Train that throws the "d01clr" code when I turn the ignition switch to ignition. I have tried to reset the code with trip odometer reset button with no luck. I have pulled the tank console to see if there were any pinched wires that may be shorting out. All of the wires looked really good, with no evidence of wear. It won't run through a gambit of codes, either (this may be because of it being a carbureted bike). Any ideas? The bike runs fine, but I'm on the meticulous side and don't want it throwing any codes. Thank you in advance for any help.

Just to be clear.
You have a carbureted bike throwing codes????????
Is the speedo the one that came with the bike?

BTW you need to change your sig information.
The 1999 FXSTB was not the last evo.
The last evo was the 2000 FXR4.

txhillcountry--

yes, a carbureted bike and yes, it is the same speedo…i assume. The sticker on the back of the speedo has a date stamp of 1999. Thanks for the clarification on the last evo.

Interesting, I didn't know carbd bikes threw codes.
According to what beemervet posted the problem is in your speed sensor.
Your speed sensor is on the top of the tranny on the right side toward the rear.

You might try disconnecting the battery for a few minutes to see if that clears the codes.
