Test ride was a success! It was the belt. I think it's amazing that a loose belt could make such a horrible sound, but then again the shark-nose reflects sound in strange ways. I can actually hear my bell now! LOL!

You'd be surprised, I was. Learned about that little trick on my '04 EGU. Smiled all the way to the bank.

Umm.....really? It was the belt not the hangers.

My chirp was and is NOT a loose belt. My chirp is only when under acceleration and the short revs at a light. Not heavy revs, just cleaning out the cylinders at idle.

Chirp is head gasket leak. And yet, I went with the minority opinion of a very select few and tried Helicoils instead of Thread-serts. One of my helicoils is pulling out from right rear, rear jug. PISSED! And a little disheartened. That's a lot of work and time and attention to detail to try to get it right.

Well, as they say, back to the ol' drawing board.
