i could be incorrect BUT your seal looks to me the sealing lip looks rolled over
i have also seen the seals spring pop out of the seal lip during an instlation, if it does not have the retention from the spring and it will do that every time
I now on the old shovelheads 4 speeds the leaking problem was main shaft and main drive gear bushing would wear out. had to be machined fit. The long thin bushing in the main drive gear. You needed a special tool to press the old one out, an then the new one put it on a lathe to machine it down to the right size. The cause of that problem was people would have there chain to tight. People would think it the seal and just replace the seal and it would stop leaking for 50 or 100 miles or so, then it would start to leak again. I don't know on the 5 or 6 speeds. Just throwing it out there.
